How Ganapati came to be known as Chintamani ?

Gan and his companions appreciated the wonderful feast.

After the dinner, Gan approached Sage Kapil for the mystical pearl; however the Sage can't, as he knew Gan's barbarous nature. Along these lines, Gan persuasively grabbed the diamond from the Sage's hand.

From that point, Sage Kapil revered Deity Ganapati. Ganapati was satisfied with the Sage's dedication and chose to rebuff Gan. Gan imagined that Sage Kapil will battle with him to get back the jewel, so he assaulted Sage Kapil. By Ganapati's beauty, an enormous armed force was shaped in the woods and this armed force demolished the majority of Gan's troopers. Presently Ganapati himself entered the war zone. The Deities and Sages were tired of his badgering and chose to slaughter him; however the inquiry was, who will execute such a great devil ? Along these lines, Sage Parashar went to Shri Ganesh and asked for Him to execute the evil spirit.

Shri Ganesh mounted on his mouse and alongside His armed force left for the fight. The sentries of Sindhurasur saw that Shri Ganesh was drawing closer to assault Sindhurasur and they, thusly, instantly cautioned him. Sindhurasur was exceptionally amazed to realize that somebody was coming to battle him. He was delighted by the way that a youngster like Shri Ganesh had come to battle against him.

Meanwhile, Shri Ganesh remained before him and called him for a fight. Exactly when Sindhurasur was going to pound him, Shri Ganesh demonstrated His marvel. One day Shri Ganesh moved toward Angalasur and expanded His size to triple to that of Angalasur. Watching this, the evil presence was terrified. Shri Ganesh lifted Angalasur and ate him like a betel-nut. When He ate the devil, His body began consuming. Along these lines, the Deities and Sages offered Him durva (A fragrant grass utilized in the ceremonial love of Shri Ganesh) to chill Him off. The durva helped in chilling off Shri Ganesh's body.

Again later, Shri Ganesh slaughtered an evil spirit named Vighnasur; so one of His names is Vighaneshwar.
